Abstract

The Dutch Reformed Church (DRC) and an era of change since 1990: Effects for the identity of the DRC (Part II)
The recent state of affairs in the DR (NG) Church is complicated. The reason for this can be ascribed to a variety of historical incidents that underlies the numerous and diverse phenomena in the church, in particular the political and cultural change since 1990 and the change in dominant social thinking and behaviour. While studying these historical incidents it is possible to identify the causality and cohesion of these ecclesiastical phenomena. What the church in future will become depends besides its own thinking and theologising and various other factors, on the church’s comprehension of the meaning of these phenomena for its existence.
