The Use of Familial Imagery in John 8 and the Ethics of the Gospel according to JohnEthics in the Gospel according to John is a neglected area of research, especially because common ethical indicators like virtue and vice lists, paraenesis or example narratives are absent. Here it is argued that if the analytical categories are expanded to include, for instance, imagery other dimensions of ethical behaviour become evident. This is illustrated through the analysis of familial language in John 8.
