Abstract

This article proposes a framework for a researcher to evaluate his/her own research results with a view to assure the quality thereof and to prevent the article from being an own opinion only. This framework discussed the various requirements for a science paper. These requirements can be listed as a critical evaluation of the facts (as presented in the literature and data) against the stated research problem to create new knowledge on a particular topic. Three kinds of evaluation categories are proposed: structural evaluation, critical evaluation and value-adding evaluation. These categories are supported by a quality assurance perspective. The abortion debate and the ethics around the Enron scandal are used as illustration material.
