Abstract

The role of an ethic of responsibility and moral formation in building a more humane society
This article argues that accepting a Bill of Rights is good and necessary in building a democratic, free, righteous and humane society. However, this alone is not enough. More needs to be done. Thus, this article argues that an ethic of responsibility, and a process of moral formation of people of virtue and character, who can embody the values enshrined in the Bill of Rights, is necessary in building a society that is humane, and one that recognizes the dignity of all people .
