Heaven and hell: A missiological perspectiveIn the modern world, many people do not accept the concepts of heaven and hell anymore. Nonetheless, one needs to ask about the Biblical teaching concerning heaven and hell. This article entails an exegetical and hermeneutical study on these concepts in the Bible and on subsequent developments in theology. This is followed by a systematic theological analysis and an ethical appraisal. The conclusion is that, after a sound Biblical analysis, it is not possible to disregard the concepts of heaven and hell. In the preaching of the word in a missionary sense, the overwhelming grace of God should be emphasised.
