D J Galligan in his book Due Process and Fair Procedures. A Study of Administrative Procedures (1996) writes, “If justice is the first virtue of law and politics, then procedural justice is an essential element in its attainment. For no matter how good and just the laws and political principles supporting them may be, without suitable procedures they would fail in their purpose.”This article is about fair procedures and processes in the government of the church. It traces the origins of fair procedures in the church and describes the situation with regard to fair procedures in a few Reformed Churches.
