This contribution reflects on the ecological impact of a consumerist culture. It focuses on a production on consumerism staged by the Earthkeeping Commission of the Dutch Reformed Church and the Uniting Reformed Church in the Western Cape. It relates this production to Christian literature on the topic of consumerism and offers some theological perspectives on a culture of consumerism and on the virtue of simplicity.Published
